Ship Audits International replaced a document-driven reporting workflow with a purpose-built platform: evidence captured aboard the vessel, findings sealed with a digital signature, and a branded report produced in minutes.
The situation
Ship Audits International conducts navigational audits aboard commercial vessels. The reporting behind that work was document driven: checklists, photographs, findings, and invoices assembled by hand after the auditor came ashore. Assembly took hours per audit, and a finished report was only as defensible as the paper trail behind it.
What we built
Sylerity designed and built a purpose-built audit platform: a cloud-hosted portal where lead auditors complete navigational audit checklists aboard the vessel, capture photographic evidence from a phone or tablet, assign risk at the section level, and close out findings with a locked digital signature. When the audit is complete, the platform produces a fully branded, print-ready report and a client invoice on demand.
Built for proof
Every change in the system is written to a SHA-256 hash-chained activity log, so a completed audit can be proven unaltered after the fact. That matters in a field where an audit is a professional judgment someone may later challenge: the record shows what was entered, when, and that nothing has quietly changed since.
Built for conditions at sea
Connectivity aboard a vessel is intermittent at best, so the platform autosaves continuously and tolerates dropped connections without losing work. It runs on Cloudflare's global edge with daily off-site backup, hosted and managed by Sylerity, so the audit team's attention stays on the vessel rather than the software.
